How to grow Orion succulent

How to grow Orion succulent

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: Orion is not too demanding on the soil, with only one very important requirement, which is good air permeability. Generally speaking, if this condition is met, succulents will grow more vigorously.

2. Temperature: The plant prefers warmth, preferably between 20 and 25 degrees. Its cold resistance is not very good and it needs to be kept above five degrees to survive the winter safely, so it is best to keep it indoors.

3. Light: The plant likes light and should be placed in a location with sufficient light during the growth period. In summer, it may enter a dormant stage and can be placed in semi-shade to avoid strong light.

4. Watering: More water is needed in spring and autumn to keep the soil in the pot at a certain humidity to provide sufficient water for its growth. However, water should be controlled in both summer and winter, the former because of dormancy and the latter because the temperature is too low.

2. Reproduction method

The main method of propagation of Orion succulent is cuttings, or leaf cuttings to be more precise. Choose full, strong leaves for cuttings and prepare a suitable substrate. The leaves can only be cut and dried before they can be used for cuttings. They can be placed directly on the substrate without being inserted, and then placed in a cooler place.

3. Change the pot regularly

Because Orion succulents require soil with good air permeability, but the soil will clump after a period of time, so the soil must be changed after this phenomenon occurs. There is no specific interval, just replace the soil when it becomes seriously clumped.
