How to divide the plant of Lucky Star

How to divide the plant of Lucky Star

1. Division time

It is best to divide it in April in spring, because it is also necessary to change the pot at this time, and the temperature is very suitable, between 20 and 25 degrees. After division, the plant can adapt to the environment as soon as possible and grow better.

2. Division method

1. Be careful when removing the plant from the pot: Water the plant moderately a few days before division to keep the soil moist. This will make it easier to remove the plant from the pot without damaging the roots. When removing the plant from the pot, hold the plant with one hand and carefully turn the pot upside down with the other hand. Then break up the soil and try not to damage the buds.

2. Separating bud blocks: Division means planting the bud blocks grown from the roots of the mother plant separately, and then growing them into new plants. Therefore, after removing the plant from the pot, you need to clean the roots, then cut off the buds with scissors, disinfect them with wood ash, and dry the wounds.

3. Prepare the potting soil: It does not have high requirements for soil, garden soil will do. However, it is best to use nutrient soil that is breathable and contains humus. Be sure to disinfect it before use to avoid residual insect eggs. You also need to prepare a flower pot with drainage holes and fill it with an appropriate amount of soil.

4. Planting in pots: Once the potting soil is prepared, you can plant in the pot. When planting, first dig a small hole in the middle of the soil, then put the bud block in, compact it, then water it thoroughly, and then cover it with a thin layer of soil. After planting, place it in a cool place and keep it moist. It will take about a week to take root and survive.
