How to grow a fortune tree

How to grow a fortune tree

1. Habits

Understanding the growth habits of the money tree can help us better understand what kind of growth environment this plant needs.

1. Lighting

The money tree itself does not require too strong light, and normal lighting conditions are enough for it to grow well. It cannot grow for long periods of time in overly shady conditions.

2. Temperature

The money tree grows best at temperatures between 20℃ and 30℃ and cannot survive for a long time under conditions below 8℃.

3. Humidity

The money tree grows best in a moderately humid environment, that is, at 50%-70% humidity.

4. Flower fertilizer

Because the money tree grows faster than other plants, it requires a larger amount of fertilizer for growth.

5. Moisture

The money tree is relatively drought-resistant and can adapt to a relatively water-scarce environment.

6. Matrix

The money tree likes a relatively thick and soft substrate with good air permeability and certain drainage capacity.

2. Environmental Adjustment

Comparing with the habits of the money tree mentioned above, we can optimize its breeding environment to help it grow branches and leaves better.

1. Place it in a location with relatively good indoor lighting conditions, such as by the window, balcony, sunny door, etc., to ensure that it gets enough light. Never place it in a room without light for a long time, otherwise it will be difficult to grow. In addition, when the sun is strong at noon in summer and autumn, you can provide it with about 50% shade to prevent it from being sunburned.

2. Adjust the ambient temperature of the breeding area to the range of 20℃-30℃. Do not let it get frozen when the weather is cold in winter. You can take certain insulation measures.

3. Adjust the humidity of the environment where it is grown to within the range of 50%-70%. Do not let it be too dry in the summer when the weather is dry. You can spray a little mist on the leaves, the bottom of the pot and the surrounding air to increase the humidity. Ensure that it can grow healthily.

4. In daily breeding, you should pay attention to timely fertilization. It has a relatively large demand for flower fertilizers, and without enough flower fertilizers it is not enough to support its normal growth. During the growing season, flower fertilizer can be applied twice a month. Fertilization should be stopped in late autumn to help it survive the winter. When choosing fertilizer, you can use water-soluble fertilizer or household fertilizer with N:P:K=1:1:1.

5. It is relatively drought-resistant, so it is better to water it less rather than more, and never allow water to accumulate in the soil.

6. We can mix garden soil, leaf mold and coarse sand to use as the substrate.
