How spider silk reproduces

Propagation by division

Division propagation is the most commonly used propagation method for spider silk.

First, remove the small side buds, wash them in clean water, and then place them in a cool place to dry before use.

Then prepare slightly moist soil and put it in the flowerpot. Do not compact it, just keep it loose.

For cuttings, directly insert the dried side buds into the soil, and then maintain them in a cool and ventilated place. You just need to wait for them to take root.

Seed propagation

First, you need to collect the seeds of the spider silk plant and make sure they are disease-free and harmless.

Secondly, prepare the soil, pay attention to the soil requirements, and use peat mixed with perlite and cinders to create a well-drained soil.

The last step is to plant the prepared seeds into the potting soil, water them immediately after planting, and place them in a well-lit place for maintenance.

Leaf cuttings and branch cuttings

Spider silk is also commonly propagated by leaf cuttings and branch cuttings. As long as it is a division plant, it can be propagated by branch cuttings and leaf cuttings. When propagating, you need to use the sub-plants that sprout from the branches. Leaf cuttings are also very easy, so leaf cuttings and branch cuttings are convenient and simple, and the survival rate is good.

Propagation and maintenance of spider silk

First of all, water thoroughly only when the soil is completely dry. Don’t water if the soil is not dry.

Secondly, spring and autumn are its growing seasons, so it can be exposed to full sunlight to supplement the nutrients needed by the plant.

Finally, pay attention to maintaining a balanced temperature at normal times, keep extra warm and prevent cold in winter, and keep the soil in the pot dry.
