How to grow water lilies in autumn

1. Change the water volume in time

In summer, water lilies bloom more vigorously and are brighter. But when autumn comes, the flowers have gradually withered, so you just need to fill it with water and leave it there without moving it.

However, at the end of autumn, which is the Cold Dew season, the stems and leaves of the plants have turned yellow and dry. At this time, you can pour out the water inside, then place them in the sun to dry, evaporate the surface moisture, and store them in an environment of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius.

2. Stop fertilizing

During the previous growth period, fertilizer needs to be applied every one and a half to two and a half months to ensure growth. However, starting from September in autumn, do not apply any fertilizer. It has entered a dormant period at this time. Adding fertilizer to it will cause root rot.

3. Pruning

In autumn, the flowers have gradually faded and fallen. Withered leaves and flowers also look unsightly. At this time, it is necessary to remove the remaining flowers and dead leaves in time after flowering. This can also reduce the wasted consumption of nutrients.
