Dahlia seed sowing time

Dahlia seeds are generally sown from March to July each year. The temperature at that time gradually rises and the light is relatively sufficient, which is more suitable for seed germination. Therefore, when the temperature stabilizes at around 20 degrees, sowing can be carried out, and the seeds will germinate about 4-5 days after sowing.

Dahlia seed planting method and steps

1. Soil: Dahlia seeds need suitable soil when sowing, preferably with good air permeability. You can mix leaf mold, river sand and peat soil, so that the drainage is better and it is more suitable for growth.

2. Container: The container used for planting dahlia seeds must have good drainage. You can use a seedling tray that is 20-50 cm long and about 20 cm wide. Then disinfect it and then put the prepared soil on it.

3. Sowing: Spread the prepared dahlia seeds evenly on the soil, then cover with a small amount of fine soil, and spray water appropriately. Keep the temperature at around 20-25 degrees, and they will gradually germinate after about 4-5 days.
