The causes and treatment methods of purple moon yellow leaves

The causes and treatment methods of purple moon yellow leaves

1. Insufficient light

Reason: Although Purple Moonflower is an ornamental plant, it prefers a warm and well-lit growing environment rather than a shady place. Only when it is exposed to full sunlight can it grow better, otherwise it will easily cause yellow leaves problems.

Measures: You can grow the Purple Moonflower on a balcony with sufficient light, but it is not resistant to sunlight. Therefore, when the sunlight is too strong, be careful to block it. It needs to be moved to another location at noon, and when the temperature is too high, water needs to be sprayed around to cool it down.

2. Improper watering

Reason: During the growth period of Purple Moon, it does not need too much water. However, if it is not watered for a long time and fails to provide the necessary moisture, its leaves will turn yellow. When watering, you must control the amount of water. Do not allow water to accumulate in the soil, which will cause root rot and yellow leaves.

Action: If watering is too little, increase the frequency of watering. If it has too much water, remove it from the pot, trim off the rotten roots and then repot it. When watering the Purple Moon Plant, pay attention to the condition of the soil. Water it when it is completely dry, and water it thoroughly. During the growing season, watering once is enough to meet its growth needs.

3. Improper fertilization

Reason: Purple Moonflower is relatively resistant to barrenness, but it grows relatively fast, so the nutrients in the soil are consumed relatively quickly. If you don't apply fertilizer in time to supplement nutrients, the plant will not be able to get enough nutrients, leading to yellow leaves.

Measures: Fertilize the Purple Moon on time, about once a month, and it is best to use liquid fertilizer. You can also use succulent fertilizer to provide sufficient nutrients for its growth.

4. Soil issues

Reason: Purple Moon Plant is suitable for planting in relatively dry soil. If the soil is too moist, it will easily cause its roots to rot, leading to yellow leaves.

Measures: Purple Moon Plant needs to use dry soil. You can use perlite mixed with vermiculite, peat, etc. to make potting soil to enhance air permeability.
