Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of astragalus

Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of astragalus

1. Proper watering

Reason: Astragalus prefers a humid environment and requires more water during the growing period. But be careful not to supply too much water to avoid water accumulation. Otherwise, the leaves will easily turn yellow or even the flowers will fall off.

Solution: If yellow leaves are caused by excessive watering, the plant needs to be placed in a ventilated place to allow the moisture in the soil to evaporate quickly. If yellow leaves are caused by insufficient watering, you need to increase the frequency of watering to keep the soil at a certain humidity. In spring and autumn, watering is required every three days. In summer, you can water it once a day.

2. Sufficient light

Reason: Astragalus membranaceus is a plant that prefers sunlight. Insufficient light will hinder the growth of leaves, causing yellow leaves, which will seriously affect the viewing experience. But it is also afraid of strong light. Exposure to strong light can easily cause poor growth and cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: First cut off the yellow leaves, then place it in a sunny place and wait for the plant to recover. It must not be placed in a dark and shady place. Only sufficient sunlight can promote its growth. It should be noted that direct sunlight should be avoided as much as possible. Especially in summer, proper shade is needed.

3. Increase the temperature

Reason: The temperature suitable for its growth is between 15-25℃. If the temperature is too low or too high, its growth will be damaged, affecting the normal development of the leaves, resulting in yellow leaves or even falling leaves.

Solution: Move it to an environment with a temperature of 15-25℃ for maintenance. Sweet vetch has a good cold resistance and can basically survive the winter on its own in southern regions. In the north, it needs to be placed in a warm and ventilated place indoors to keep its temperature within a suitable range.
