How to save Christmas cactus if its leaves wilt

How to save Christmas cactus if its leaves wilt

1. Water appropriately

Reason: It is a plant belonging to the Cactaceae family. It is drought-resistant but not water-resistant. If you water it too much during maintenance and water accumulates in the soil, it will cause root rot and the leaves will wilt and wither. Of course, if there is long-term drought and water shortage, its fleshy stems will become soft and the leaves will wilt.

Solution: Improper watering should be solved according to the actual situation. If you water too much, drain the water in time, place it in a ventilated place, and dry the soil in the pot as soon as possible. If you water too little, add water immediately. You can water thoroughly once, and pay attention to the amount of water during later maintenance.

2. Reduce light

Reason: It cannot be exposed to strong light for a long time. If it is kept in a place with strong light, the leaves will become soft and wilted due to the sun.

Solution: Move it to a ventilated and cool place for maintenance, and place it in a place with scattered light after it slowly recovers. Pay attention to shade it in summer to avoid similar situations from happening again.

3. Remove the pot and change the soil

Reason: If you do not pay attention to the roots during maintenance, they will rot, and the leaves will naturally turn yellow and wilt without absorbing nutrients. If not dealt with promptly, the entire plant will die.

Solution: If the roots are rotten, they must be removed from the potting soil in time, then the rotten roots must be cut off and disinfected immediately. After the wounds are dry, change the soil and transplant again.
