The flower language of Victoria amazonica: Women are kings, they can take care of babies, and they are as brave as men.

The Origin of Wang Lianhua Language

The queen of aquatic plants

Victoria amazonica is the plant with the largest leaves among aquatic plants. Its leaves float on the water like a disc, and the diameter can reach more than 2 meters. The petiole of Victoria regia is 2-4 meters long. There are many hard thorns on the back of the leaf and the petiole, and the veins are radial. The huge leaves of Victoria amazonica make it the veritable queen of aquatic plants. The Victoria amazonica is named after Queen Victoria of England and is naturally endowed with a royal demeanor. It is the queen that attracts everyone's attention in the hot summer. The viewing period of its leaves is as long as half a year, as if it is showing off its queen style.

Amazing load capacity

As the queen of aquatic plants, of course you have to have your own unique skills. There are many large cavities in the leaves and veins of Victoria regia, which are filled with a large amount of gas, allowing the leaves of Victoria regia to float on the water. At the same time, the back of the leaf has thick veins and plate-like bulges, which crisscross to form small square grids higher than 10 cm, which is conducive to maintaining the expansion of the leaf surface and increasing the drainage and load-bearing capacity of the leaves. A huge Victoria regia leaf can bear 70 kilograms. Most people will not sink if they stand on it. This is the origin of the leaf being able to carry young babies.

The capricious goddess

The flowering period of Victoria regia is three days, and the color of the flowers is different every day. On the first day, they open in the evening and are white with fragrance; on the second day, they turn into pink; and on the third day, they turn into purple-red. Then it closes and withers. The changing colors seem to show people its wisdom and grace, so people call it "the capricious goddess".
