How to cultivate water lily

Pot soil selection

When growing water daisy, choose a flowerpot of the right size and leave enough space for the plant to grow. Add soil to the pot. First, sprinkle a layer of coarse sand in the pot as a drainage layer, then sprinkle with decomposed organic fertilizer, and then sprinkle with soil. You can prepare the soil yourself.

Light and temperature

Water daisy likes a warm growing environment. It is neither heat-resistant nor cold-resistant. The suitable temperature for its growth is between 15℃-25℃. When the temperature is higher than 34℃ in summer, it will grow poorly. When the temperature is lower than 4℃ in winter, it will hibernate or die. So avoid high temperatures in summer and low temperatures in winter.

There should be sufficient light, but be careful not to expose it to direct light for a long time. In spring, summer and autumn, you need to pay attention to shade. In winter, when the temperature is lower, you can give the water chrysanthemum direct light.

Watering and fertilizing

Water daisy has high requirements for water and fertilizer, prefers more fertilizer and water, and requires higher air humidity. Watering and fertilizing should follow the principle of more times and less amount. During the peak growing seasons in spring and autumn, watering and fertilizing should be more frequent, but be careful to reduce watering on rainy days to avoid water accumulation. It is hot in summer and cold in winter, so water and fertilizer need to be controlled. The intervals between watering and fertilizing should be longer. In summer, watering should be done in the morning when the temperature is low, and in winter, watering should be done mainly at noon when the temperature is higher.

Precautions for the cultivation of water lily

Reproduction method

The commonly used method of propagation for Waterweed is sowing, which is usually done in autumn or in April.

Pruning and topping

During the growth process of water chrysanthemum, it needs to be pruned or pinched frequently. Pinching before flowering can sprout more branches. When pinching, be sure to keep 4-6 leaves and remove the top. In addition, yellow leaves and branches can be pruned frequently.
