How to take care of newly bought dahlias

How to take care of newly bought dahlias

1. Water

Dahlias like moisture. After you bring them home, you need to water them appropriately to keep the soil moist. Be careful not to overwater, because the dahlia has not yet adapted to the new environment, and its roots have poor ability to absorb water, which can easily lead to water accumulation and damage the roots.

2. Fertilization

You can use a little thin fertilizer on the newly bought dahlias, as they have a strong demand for fertilizer. But don't use too much, because dahlias at this time cannot tolerate strong fertilizers. Too much fertilizer can easily burn the roots, which is not worth the loss.

3. Lighting

Proper lighting can help dahlias adapt to the new environment better. The lighting required is soft diffuse light. Do not place it under strong light, and do not let it be exposed to direct light. At the same time, pay attention to ventilation and do not make it too stuffy.

4. Temperature

The temperature must be controlled well. For newly purchased dahlias, the surrounding temperature should be controlled between 10 and 25 degrees. This is the most suitable temperature for its growth and can allow it to adapt to the new environment faster. If the temperature is too high or too low, it will affect the normal growth of dahlias.
