Bowl lotus cultivation methods and precautions

Bowl lotus cultivation methods and precautions

1. Potting soil

To grow bowl lotus, you need to use fertile river pond mud, or fairy soil is also fine. The cultivation container should also be slightly larger. If it is too small, it will hold very little nutrient soil and it will not be able to grow well.

2. Sunlight

It is a plant that likes sunlight. It should be placed in a place with sufficient light to make the soil in the pot warm. Only in this way can it grow faster. It must receive at least 6 hours of light during the growth period. If there is insufficient light, its color will become dull and it may even fail to bloom.

3. Water volume

Don't add too much water when you first start growing it. Too much water will easily lower the temperature, which will be detrimental to its growth and will also cause root rot due to lack of air permeability. After the leaves grow a little bigger, you need to add water gradually, otherwise the leaves will turn yellow and wither.

4. Pruning

When growing bowl lotus, its leaves will become denser and denser as it continues to grow. If they are too dense, it will affect its normal growth. At this time, you can pick off some leaves appropriately, which can help shape it and also help it grow better.

5. Notes

1. Fertilization method: When growing bowl lotus, you must ensure sufficient nutrients and apply appropriate topdressing. The amount of topdressing should be determined according to the size of the flowerpot and the plant. If the amount of fertilizer is too large, the plant will not bloom, and in severe cases the plant will die.

2. Pest and disease control: In order to prevent the occurrence of pests and diseases, it is necessary to ensure the air permeability between plants and the cleanliness of water. When pests and diseases are discovered, they must be dealt with in a timely manner and the diseased leaves must be cut off to avoid increasing the source of infection.
