Tulip cultivation methods and precautions

Tulip cultivation methods and precautions

1. Soil

Loose, well-drained soil is required. It is best to choose slightly acidic and non-sticky soil. Do not use alkaline soil, which will affect the growth of tulips.

2. Sunlight

Plenty of sunlight is good for its growth. If there is insufficient light, it will grow poorly, the flowering period will be shortened, and the color of the leaves will fade. Appropriate shading measures should be taken within 15 days after potting, because the growth of flower buds will be affected by light, and shading can promote the growth of flower buds. Properly increasing light after germination is conducive to the formation of flower buds. After the flower buds are colored, avoid direct sunlight to prolong the flowering period.

3. Watering

Appropriate watering after planting is beneficial to rooting. After sprouts emerge, the amount of watering should be reduced appropriately. Some water can be sprayed to increase the humidity of the breeding environment. In order to allow the flowers to grow and develop fully, sufficient water must be ensured, and watering should be reduced after flowering.

4. Fertilization

When fertilizing tulips, you can choose decomposed garbage fertilizer or cake fertilizer. Tulips are very sensitive to fertilizer and only need to be fertilized 2-3 times after the stems and leaves grow to buds.

5. Notes

Pests are very likely to occur in high temperature and high humidity environments. Pests are usually carried by bulbs or soil, so the soil must be disinfected before planting. When diseased plants are found, they must be removed in time to avoid increasing the source of infection. At the same time, spray pesticides and keep the air ventilated at all times.
