1. Differences in plants

The plant of Spiraea truncatula is relatively tall, reaching a height of 3 meters. The branches are slender and slightly angular. When they are first born, the stems have short and small hairs, which gradually fade away as they mature.

The height of the Spiraea plant is about 1.5 meters, and its branches are slightly curved. The color is brown at first and turns reddish brown when mature.

2. The difference of leaves

The leaves of Spiraea serrata are ovate to oblong-lanceolate, 1.3 to 3 cm long and 0.7 to 1.4 cm wide. The edges of the leaves have fine serrations and the petioles are 2 to 4 mm long.

The leaves of Spiraea are linear-lanceolate in shape, without fine hairs on both sides, and the petioles are very short or almost absent.

3. The difference of flowers

The flowers of plum-leaved spirea are distributed in 3 to 6 pieces, the pedicels are about 6 to 10 mm long, the flowers are white in color, and the flowering period is from March to July.

The flowers of Spiraea are distributed in 3 to 7 pieces, and the pedicels are very slender and have no hairs.
