Hibiscus cultivation methods and precautions

Hibiscus cultivation methods and precautions

1. Soil

Hibiscus has strong growth ability and low soil requirements. It is best to use fertile soil with good drainage. In addition, the pot must have good enough air permeability, which is more conducive to the growth of the plant.

2. Water

It is not drought-tolerant and should be watered in time during its growth period to ensure that there is enough water to maintain its growth. However, in autumn and winter, you should water less.

3. Lighting

The plant likes sunlight and needs to be placed in a place with sufficient light during cultivation. If the maintenance environment is too dark and without sunlight, its flowering amount will be reduced, and shade work will be needed in summer.

4. Fertilization

It needs to be fertilized in appropriate amounts during its growth period. More fertilizer can be applied in spring, and a small amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer can be applied before flowering. You cannot go without fertilizing for a long time, nor can you fertilize too frequently. Apply fertilizer in small amounts frequently.

5. Notes

When caring for hibiscus, it is necessary to prune it in time. If you find dead branches, weak branches and diseased branches, you should cut them off as soon as possible, otherwise it will be difficult for it to ventilate, which will hinder its growth. You can also prune it appropriately before and after it blooms to allow for the growth of side buds.
