Introduction to Green Bean GrowthGreen beans are suitable for growing in deep, loose, humus-rich and well-drained soil. It is native to southeastern Asia and is now widely distributed in tropical, subtropical and temperate regions. The main production areas in my country are Jiangxi, Henan, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Shandong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, Taiwan, etc. Green bean growth cycleFrench beans like warmth, are not frost-tolerant, and are not strict about sunlight. They are generally drought-tolerant and are usually sown or transplanted after the frost has stopped. They are divided into spring sowing and autumn sowing. The specific planting time is February-April or August-September. The growth cycle is generally about three months, so they will be harvested in summer or winter. Green bean growth rateThe growth process of green beans generally includes the germination period, seedling period, vine extension period and maturity period. Its growth speed is relatively fast. About 3-5 days after sowing the seeds, the cotyledons and plumules will emerge from the ground. On the 9th day, the cotyledons will unfold. On the 12th day, the first pair of basal leaves will expand. It takes 30-40 days before the vine extension period. Green Bean Growth Cycle ManagementThe yield per mu of green beans will vary depending on factors such as season, planting method, and variety. Generally speaking, if green beans are managed properly, the yield per mu can reach about 1,500 to 2,000 kilograms. Green beans are generally drought-resistant, but they need a certain amount of water when the seeds germinate. Excessive drought will affect germination. Water should be controlled during the flowering period, but excessive drought during the flowering period will also cause flowers to fall, so pay attention to proper watering. Temperature ManagementThe suitable temperature for green bean seeds to germinate is 20-25℃, the suitable temperature for green bean seedlings to grow is 18-20℃, and the suitable temperature during the flowering period is 18-25℃. A large number of flowers will fall when the temperature is below 15℃ and above 28℃. Fertilization managementWhen applying base fertilizer to green beans, attention should be paid to applying phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. For topdressing, the principle of applying less before flowering, more after flowering, and heavy application during the peak pod-setting period should be followed. In the early growth stage, decomposed organic fertilizers mainly composed of nitrogen fertilizers should be applied, and decomposed organic fertilizers should be sprayed from flowering to pod-setting to ensure the quality and yield of the plants. |
