How to grow succulents

How to grow succulents

1. Suitable soil

First of all, to grow succulents, it is best to use fertile, well-breathable soil, and avoid using soil that is too sticky. In addition, the soil must have good drainage. If the drainage is poor, water accumulation will easily occur. If the roots of the plants are soaked in water for a long time, it will cause root rot.

2. Reasonable lighting

Succulent plants should be given sufficient light during their growth period and should not be kept in a dark environment for a long time. If the growing environment is too dark, the plant will grow too tall. However, appropriate shading measures need to be taken when maintaining the plant outdoors in summer, and the plant should be avoided from prolonged exposure to strong sunlight. If it is maintained indoors, it is best to place it on a sunny balcony or windowsill so that it can receive sufficient light in spring, autumn and winter.

3. Watering in moderation

If you want succulents to grow better, you need to water them appropriately. There should be no accumulation of water in the potting soil after watering. If there is water accumulation for a long time, its roots will rot. When it is actively growing, it needs to be watered in time to avoid the leaves from drying out. It will enter a dormant state in summer. In addition to normal watering, you should also spray the plant with water more often to keep the soil in the pot moist.

4. Suitable temperature

The temperature suitable for the growth of succulents is between 12-28℃, and spring and autumn are its peak growth seasons. The temperature is relatively low in winter, so it needs to be adjusted appropriately. It is best to keep the temperature above 8°C. The temperature in summer should not exceed 35℃. If the temperature is too high, certain cooling measures need to be taken and proper ventilation must be ensured.
