How to grow raspberries

Environmental conditions for growing raspberries

temperature

Raspberry cultivation does not have very high temperature requirements, and the suitable temperature is relatively wide. It can be planted in places where the average year-round temperature is 15-20℃.

illumination

Raspberries like sunshine. Generally, wild raspberries grow on sunny hillsides. Adequate sunlight is more conducive to the growth of raspberries.

Moisture

There are no strict water requirements for raspberry cultivation. If you focus on yield, you can increase artificial irrigation.

soil

The soil environment can have a pH value between 5.0 and 7.0, but it must have good air permeability and a higher content of organic matter, so that the raspberries grown in this way will taste sweeter.

Management methods for raspberry planting

Fertilization management

The most commonly used fertilizer for raspberry cultivation is organic fertilizer. Humus, animal manure, and oil cake are all organic fertilizers that supplement nutrients for the growth of raspberries. During the seedling stage, you can apply compound fertilizer rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, which will make the seedlings stronger.

Moisture Management

Because the root system of raspberries is not well developed, it is difficult for raspberries to absorb moisture deep in the soil, so it is necessary to maintain the water retention capacity of the soil where raspberries grow. In dry seasons, artificial watering is needed to ensure the water needs of raspberries.

Branch management

The main purpose of raspberry pruning is to increase sunlight between branches and to increase fruit set. Reduce excess primary stems and flower diameters to increase nutrient supply among various branch groups.

Weed Management

Raspberry weeding is generally done during the tillage period, 2 or 3 times a year. Herbicides can be used to ensure that all weeds are removed.
