How to mow the lawn beautifully

When is the right time to mow the lawn?

It is best to mow the lawn during the peak growing season in summer, because the growth rate is fast at this time, so it needs to be mowed multiple times to avoid being deprived of sunlight and affecting growth.

Lawn Mowing Tips

The lawn cannot be mowed repeatedly in the same direction at the same location. The mowing direction should be changed during mowing. Fine mowing can be performed in a direction that is 45° or 90° to the initial mowing direction. Grass clippings should usually be cleaned up in time after mowing.

Pruning branches and leaves: After the lawn grows to a certain height, cut off 1/3 of the leaves each time, but do not cut too much. When cutting off the upper leaves, excessive light will cause leaf burns.

Lawn mowing precautions

Lawn mowing can be combined with measuring the actual height after mowing. In order to ensure that the stems and leaves of the lawn grass grow upward, the mowing direction needs to be changed.

Cool-season lawns generally grow faster in the spring and fall and require more mowing, while they grow slower in the summer and require less frequent mowing.

Warm-season lawns grow faster in the summer and slower in the spring and fall, requiring less frequent mowing. Regardless of whether it is cool-season grass or warm-season grass, the root system grows slowly and becomes less active in colder climates, and cannot provide the necessary nutrients for the aboveground part. Therefore, when mowing, the lower limit of the appropriate mowing height should be taken to reduce the consumption of nutrients by the aboveground part.
