How to keep tomato seeds and how to plant them

How to save tomato seeds

Tomatoes are also called tomatoes, foreign tomatoes, etc. Their seeds grow inside the fruit. Tomato seeds are light yellow and are wrapped in flesh and skin. Choose fruits with good shape and bright colors for reserved seed protection.

When the tomatoes are fully ripe, you can directly take out the seeds inside, put them in clean water to clean the gelatinous substance on the surface, then spread them flat on gauze and dry them in the sun. After they are dry, you can put them away.

Tomato seed propagation

Tomatoes can be propagated by seeds. The plants have a good ability to adapt to the environment and can be planted all year round. However, the specific time depends on the local climate and tomato variety. They will germinate in about 10 days after planting and bloom in about one and a half months.

How to plant tomato seeds

1. Seed treatment

Before planting tomatoes, the seeds should be soaked to germinate. Soak them in warm water for 1-2 hours and stir constantly. Take them out and soak them for another 3-5 hours. This can also play a certain role in sterilization.

2. Sowing

Sow the processed tomato seeds evenly in the seedbed, about 30 grams per square meter. Keep the soil slightly moist in the later stage and control the ambient temperature between 22-28℃. When there are 2-3 true leaves, they can be transplanted.
