Water requirements of rhododendron

1. Watering frequency

Rhododendrons are relatively water-loving during the growing season, and must be kept sufficiently hydrated during periods of high water demand. Under normal circumstances, that is, during the growing season in spring and autumn, it is sufficient to ensure 2-3 times of water per week. Water evaporates very quickly in summer, so watering is necessary, and you can water once a day. The situation in winter is very special. The temperature gradually drops, the growth rate slows down, and watering should also be reduced. Water once every ten days or half a month, and keep it relatively dry.

2. Spray water to moisturize

In addition to normal watering to maintain growth, water mist should be sprayed around the plants in summer to achieve the purpose of lowering the temperature and increasing the humidity.

3. Watering time

The watering time must also be controlled well, which is also very important. If the watering time is not controlled well, it may also affect the normal growth of the plant. In summer, avoid noon time and water can be given in the morning and evening. In winter, the temperature is relatively low and watering in the morning and evening will cause frostbite of the plants. Watering can be done at noon.

4. Water quality selection

Rhododendron is an acid-loving flower. It is difficult for it to grow normally in an alkaline environment, which may cause growth problems. The best water quality to choose is acidic water. You can choose rainwater or evaporated tap water. In order to increase the acidity, you can add appropriate amount of vinegar.
