When and how to repot Phalaenopsis, how to water Phalaenopsis after repotting

1. Time to change pots

The best time to repot Phalaenopsis is in late spring or early summer. During this period, new roots have just grown out, and repotting at this time will not easily damage the new roots. The temperature environment is also very suitable. At this time, the temperature can be guaranteed to be above 20 degrees, which is more conducive to its recovery. If the temperature is too low, below 20 degrees, it is recommended not to remove the pot and change the pot, otherwise it will easily aggravate the damage to it.

2. Repotting Method

1. Repotting seedlings: Seedlings grow fast. If they are planted in spring, they need to be repotted in summer, otherwise it will affect their later growth. But you can't put it directly in a large pot, choose a pot of appropriate size. The method is very simple. Just take out the roots together with the soil, and then plant them in the potting soil.

2. Repotting mature plants: Mature Phalaenopsis plants need to be repotted once a year. First remove the plant from the pot, carefully shake off the soil from the roots, and then trim off old, rotten, and damaged roots. All the garden soil should be poured out and new soil should be prepared. After treatment, plant it in new potting soil and keep it in a cool place first. Then check normal management after recovery.

3. How to water after repotting

When repotting the seedlings, you can directly water them thoroughly so that both the seedlings and the soil can absorb enough water. This will help them adapt to the environment faster and resume growth. If it is a mature plant, there is no need to rush to water it after repotting, because root pruning will inevitably cause wounds. Wait two or three days until the wound has adapted before watering again to avoid infection.
