Common diseases of Jade Dew: root rot

This is due to root rot, which gradually weakens the ability to absorb water and nutrients, and eventually the whole plant dies. The main symptoms are the shriveling and shrinking of the leaves of the whole plant. The disease usually occurs from late March to early April, with the peak period in May.

Jade root rot prevention and control methods

The potting depth of the Jade Plant should not be too deep, and the soil should be a mixture of well-drained leaf mold and coarse sand.

Keep it slightly moist during the growing period, but do not allow water to accumulate in the pot. Stagnant water can easily cause root rot of Jade Plant.

Preventive agents: Copper preparations or metalaxyl can be used for prevention.

When the disease occurs: metalaxyl, carbendazim or copper preparations can be used for root irrigation.

Common diseases of Jade Dew: Anthracnose

It is an important disease that harms succulents and is a fungal disease. It often occurs in hot and humid seasons, especially the hot and humid rainy season, and can also be caused by excessive application of nitrogen fertilizer.

In the early stage of the disease, small brown spots appear on the leaves, which then expand into a circular or oval shape. The spots gradually dry up, and in severe cases the entire plant is infected.

Prevention and control methods of Jade Anthracnose

First, open the windows for ventilation to reduce indoor air temperature and humidity. Then spray with 1000 times diluted 70% methyl thiophanate wettable powder, or spray 70% methyl thiophanate 60% anthrax, fumei, multi-bacterium, etc. to prevent the disease from spreading further.
