What fertilizer is good for asparagus fern? Can I use quick-acting compound fertilizer?

What fertilizer is good for asparagus fern? Can I use quick-acting compound fertilizer?

1. What kind of fertilizer is good?

When cultivating asparagus fern, top dressing should be applied during its growth period. Fertilizer can be made with cake fertilizer, sesame paste residue and other fermented organic fertilizers. Common cake fertilizers include bean cake, rapeseed cake, etc. When using, just dilute it with water and pour it into the soil. Alternatively, you can apply granular fertilizer mainly composed of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. It can be buried shallowly in the soil, or it can be diluted before use.

When raising crops at home, people will make their own fertilizers by composting rice water and melon and fruit peels, then adding water and watering the plants. When asparagus fern is about to bloom, you can apply superphosphate or bone meal to promote better growth.

2. Can I use quick-acting compound fertilizer?

While caring for asparagus fern, you can use quick-acting compound fertilizer. Generally, you can dig a small hole in the soil and bury the fertilizer in the hole. Be careful when applying fertilizer and do not choose to do so when the temperature is high. Usually, no fertilizer is needed in summer, and applying fertilizer when the temperature is too high will more easily cause fertilizer damage. In addition, do not apply concentrated fertilizer to it, as this will cause the leaves of the plant to turn yellow.

3. Precautions for fertilization

If you apply too much fertilizer to it, you need to water it as soon as possible and then place it in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance. However, this method is more effective for water-soluble fertilizers. If granular fertilizer is applied, it will be difficult to rinse off. If you are worried that the roots have rotted, you can change the soil.
