What to do if the cat's eye arrowroot leaves are bent

What to do if the cat's eye arrowroot leaves are bent

One of the reasons why cat's eye arrowroot leaves bend:

Too little watering, insufficient humidity

Cat's eye arrowroot is native to tropical and subtropical regions and prefers a humid growing environment. In addition, its leaves are large and water evaporates quickly. If the surrounding air humidity is insufficient, the leaves will react sensitively and become bent. Insufficient watering can also easily cause the leaves of the cat's eye calathea to curl, turn yellow, and some leaves to die.

Treatment

Increase watering, spray the leaves frequently, keep the air around the leaves moist, and make sure to water thoroughly to prevent water accumulation in the pot, otherwise root rot will also cause the leaves to bend and shrink.

The second reason why the leaves of cat's eye arrowroot are bent:

Unsuitable temperature and humidity

Cat's eye arrowroot likes high temperatures, especially in winter when the temperature is too low and the air is dry, the leaves tend to bend and shrink.

Treatment

Strengthen the water and fertilizer management and heat preservation of the cat's eye arrowroot. When the temperature is too low in winter, you can move the cat's eye arrowroot to a warm place indoors, cover it with a plastic bag, and poke some small holes on it for ventilation.

The third reason why the leaves of cat's eye arrowroot are bent:

Improper fertilization

If the fertilizer concentration is too high, or if large or raw fertilizer is used, the fibrous roots of the cat's eye arrowroot will rot and the leaves will curl.

Treatment

Stop fertilizing immediately. In severe cases, you need to replace the potting soil and clean the residual fertilizer on the cat's eye calathea plant.
