What to do if the tip of the peace lily leaves turns black and dry

What to do if the tip of the peace lily leaves turns black and dry

1. Adjust the lighting

Reason: Although it has a certain degree of shade tolerance, if it is placed in a dark environment for a long time it will affect its growth and it will easily turn into yellow leaves. In severe cases the leaves will dry up and fall off. But it cannot be placed in direct sunlight, otherwise the leaves will be burned and turn yellow.

Solution: If there is a lack of light, move the plant to a place with diffuse light and expose it to more diffuse light. This way, the plant will slowly recover. If the plant is sunburned due to excessive sunlight, move it to a semi-shaded location and spray water all around it frequently, and it will slowly recover.

2. Reduce watering

Reason: If you water the plant frequently during maintenance and the plant cannot absorb all the water, water will accumulate over a long period of time, affecting the normal breathing of the roots, causing root rot.

Solution: Stop watering temporarily, move it to a ventilated place, loosen the soil and let the water evaporate as quickly as possible. If the yellowing and falling leaves are serious, it is recommended to remove the plant from the pot and trim the roots, and then put it back in the pot after pruning. Pay attention to reducing the amount of water in the later stage and strictly prohibit water accumulation.

3. Increase the temperature

Reason: It likes to grow in a warm environment and is not cold-resistant. The temperature is lower in winter. If the temperature is not controlled in time, the plants will easily be frostbitten, and the leaves will turn yellow and fall off.

Solution: Move to a warmer place when the temperature drops in winter, and the minimum temperature must be kept above 5 degrees. It also needs more sun and less watering so that it can safely survive the winter.
