1. Storage methodThere are two ways to preserve tulip bulbs: one is at room temperature and the other is at low temperature. Since the temperature in the north is relatively low, it can be stored at room temperature. Wrap the bulbs with newspaper and place them in a cool and ventilated place. In the south, the bulbs need to be stored at low temperatures. Place the bulbs in the refrigerator and keep the temperature between 4-9℃. 2. How to plant1. Vernalization and disinfection: In order to ensure the healthy growth of the bulbs, low temperature treatment for a period of time is usually required, and disinfection is also required before sowing. Generally, carbendazim is used for soaking, and the time is about 30 minutes. Then add a few drops of gibberellin to promote germination. After taking out the bulb, peel off the outer gray-brown skin. 2. Soil preparation: Tulips, like most plants, prefer loose and fertile soil. Loose soil is important for root growth, and good drainage can also reduce the possibility of rot. If you prepare the potting soil yourself, you can mix garden soil, leaf mold and sand to create good growing conditions. 3. Planting: Prepare flower pots of appropriate size, place broken tiles on the bottom, and cover with prepared soil. Place the bulb upright in it, then start filling with soil, and gently compact it with your hands when it is full. If the flowerpot is deeper, you can plant several more, but don't put them together. It is no problem to plant three in a 20 cm deep pot, just place them in a triangle. 4. Subsequent maintenance: After burying the bulbs in the soil, you need to water them with an appropriate amount of water. The water should not be too much, especially there should be no stagnant water. Place the plant in a well-ventilated place, pay attention to the temperature, and let it get adequate light after germination. When the plant grows 3-4 leaves, you can fertilize it to promote the growth of branches and leaves. |
