When mountain roses are first bought, they need to be placed in a ventilated place all day to prevent black rot in the plants. The potting soil environment needs to be loose, breathable, have a certain degree of granularity, and contain a small amount of organic matter, which is more conducive to its growth. The light should not be too strong. It is best to place it in a place with soft light for maintenance in the early stage. The temperature should be kept at around 25℃. Watering also needs to be reduced appropriately. It is best to keep the potting soil in a dry state. Do not apply fertilizer for the time being.

2. Specific breeding methods

1. Soil: It is suitable for growing in loose, breathable and well-drained soil. Its nutrient soil can be prepared by mixing leaf mold, peat, perlite, etc. A layer of gravel can be laid on the surface of the soil. It is best to choose a transparent flowerpot of appropriate size with drainage holes at the bottom.

2. Temperature: It likes a warm environment, and the most suitable temperature for its growth is 15℃﹣30℃. When you just buy it, in order to help it adapt to the pot, you can place it in an environment with a temperature of about 25℃. During periods of high temperatures in summer or low temperatures in winter, it will enter a dormant period for self-protection, and growth will stop at this time. Therefore, in summer you can place it in a cool and well-ventilated place for maintenance. In winter, you should take insulation measures in advance and keep the temperature at least above 5°C to avoid frostbite.

3. Watering: It has strong drought resistance and prefers a dry environment. Be sure to control the amount of water when watering. When you first buy it, water it once a week on average. Under normal circumstances, during the growth period, keep the soil moist, but do not allow water to accumulate to prevent root damage. In winter, when temperatures are lower, it is best to keep the soil dry. The temperature is high in summer and the amount of water evaporation is large. When watering, you can spray some water on the leaves.

4. Light: When you just buy it, you can put it in a place with soft light for a period of time to adapt to it, and then put it in a south-facing balcony or windowsill for maintenance. Good ventilation must be ensured. It should be noted that you should not put it directly under strong light to avoid damage to the leaves of the plant.

5. Fertilization: It does not have high requirements for fertilizer and does not need to be fertilized until it returns to normal growth state. Under normal circumstances, you can sprinkle some base fertilizer in the basin before potting, and then apply top dressing every 2-3 months, using nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer.
