Common Camellia sasanqua

An evergreen shrub or small tree, over 1.5 meters tall, with grayish white bark, alternate leaves, elliptic to oblong-ovate, short-pointed at the apex, serrated on the edges, glossy on the leaf surface, slightly hairy on the midrib, and inconspicuous lateral veins.

The most common colors of Camellia sasanqua are white and white with red, some are pink, and a very small number are red. Most of them are fragrant. The flowering period is from October to December, and it is an important ornamental flower and tree in autumn.

The Asahi crane has a white background with a wide bright red border. Single petal type, 7-10 petals, flower diameter 8 cm-10 cm. The petals are flat when they first bloom, and gradually curl up into a flying shape after they are in full bloom, and are fragrant. Flowering period is from October to December. It is white with purple outer edges, 25 to 30 petals, 8 cm to 9 cm in diameter, semi-double to peony-shaped, with broad oval leaves that are dark green, grow vigorously, and are relatively open. It blooms in late November, is cold-resistant, and is a colorful variety.

Takarazuka, the flowers are very light pink, the outer petals are pink, there are 25-30 petals, the stamens are slightly connected, the flower diameter is about 10 cm, and it is semi-double. The flowering period is from late November to early April of the following year; the leaves are oblong, dark green, with sharp and sparse teeth, the tree shape is relatively open, and the growth is vigorous.

Spring Camellia

Spring camellia is an interspecific hybrid between camellia sasanqua and red camellia and their offspring. The flowering period is from December to April of the following year. The flower and leaf shapes are mostly intermediate, mostly red and pink, and a few varieties are white.
