Paulownia lankaoensis

The main production areas are in the southwest of Shandong Province and the east of Henan Province, with vertical distribution reaching about 1,400 meters above sea level. Paulownia tomentosa

It is distributed in provinces from the Yellow River basin to the Yangtze River basin, with the main production areas being Shaanxi and western Henan. The trunk of this variety is mostly low and curved, and the crown is umbrella-shaped. The twigs, leaves, flowers and fruits are mostly hairy. Leaves ovate or broadly ovate. The inflorescence is broadly conical, the buds are nearly spherical, the calyx is deeply lobed, and the corolla is bell-shaped, bright purple or bluish purple. Capsule oval.

Paulownia odorifera

The main production areas are in the provinces south of the Yangtze River Basin. In addition, it is distributed in the Dabie Mountain area, Guangdong, Guangxi, Taiwan, Yunnan, Sichuan and other places. The tree height of this variety can reach 27 meters. Young branches and leaves covered with dendrite and glandular hairs. The leaves are long-ovate and heart-shaped, entire, with paniculate cymes, white or lavender corolla, and shallowly lobed calyx. The capsule is about 6-10 cm long, oval in shape, and has a thick woody peel.

Paulownia chuanxiensis

Distributed in Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, western Hubei and southwestern Hunan. The vertical distribution can reach 1200-3000 meters above sea level. Densely covered with stellate hairs, branches and leaves are glabrous. The leaves are heart-shaped or broadly ovate and non-sticky. The corolla is bell-shaped, mostly white or purple, with a bell-shaped calyx whose lobes are deeply ovate and not curled. The capsule is about 4 cm long, oval, and leathery.
