How to Identify Black and Purple Sunflowers

1. Leaves

The leaves of the black purple sunflower are opposite, sometimes alternate at the top or all the way. Its leaves have petioles and usually have three veins after leaving the base.

2. Flowers

The flowers of the black and purple sunflower are capitula, solitary or arranged in an umbel shape.
