When does Kalanchoe bloom?

When does Kalanchoe bloom?

1. Flowering period

Kalanchoe usually blooms in December and lasts until April or May of the following year. The flowering period is very long, lasting about half a year. In fact, its flowering period is not very fixed, and it has a lot to do with the maintenance environment. It’s just that December to May is the most concentrated flowering time and also the time when the flowers bloom most vigorously.

If the breeding environment is relatively warm, the flowering period may be advanced for a period of time; if the breeding environment is relatively cool, the flowering time will be slightly delayed. If it is given suitable growing conditions during maintenance, it is very likely to bloom continuously.

2. How to make flowers bloom more vigorously

1. Light: It is best to place it on a south-facing balcony and receive about 8 hours of light a day, so that the flowers can bloom longer. If the light exposure time is short, not only will the flowers bloom late, but the number of flowers will also be small.

2. Water control: During the flower bud differentiation period of the plant, the amount of water should be controlled, and it is best to wait until the cultivation soil is dry before watering. When watering, you should water thoroughly, and it is best not to have moisture on the branches and leaves.

3. Fertilization: Applying appropriate amounts of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can help the plant bloom better. Generally, fertilizing 2-3 times a month is sufficient.
