Cultivation methods and precautions of freesia

Cultivation methods and precautions of freesia

1. Potting soil

When growing freesia, you should use a clay pot and the soil should be loose, fertile and well-drained. Do not use too thick soil for cultivation. Soil that is not breathable and easily clumps will affect the growth of the plant's roots.

2. Lighting

It prefers sunlight. During the cultivation period, you should ensure that the plant can see enough light and avoid growing it under the scorching sun, as it is very easy to grow too tall.

3. Watering

When you first pot it, you need to water it moderately, about once a week is enough. As the plant continues to grow, you can gradually increase the amount of watering. It is very afraid of too much water, so the amount of water must be controlled and no excess water can accumulate.

4. Fertilization

During the period of flower bud differentiation of the plant, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be applied every 10-15 days. The concentration of fertilizer should be lower. Too concentrated fertilizer will burn its roots. In addition, do not apply raw fertilizer to it, use fully decomposed fertilizer.

5. Notes

When freesia is growing, it should be given a growing environment of 18-20℃, and be careful not to let the temperature be too low. At night, the temperature should be maintained between 14-16℃, and the temperature during winter should be between 6-7℃, otherwise it will be frozen.
