How to grow azalea in summer

1. Lighting

It must be shaded when caring for it in the summer. It cannot be exposed to direct sunlight, as this will not only slow down its growth rate but also burn its leaves. When growing outdoors, you need to build a shade net or move it to a cool environment. When growing it indoors, it should be placed away from the south windowsill and in a location with scattered light for best maintenance.

2. Temperature

Its heat resistance is not very good, but it is not completely heat-resistant, as long as the maximum temperature in summer does not exceed 32℃. If the temperature is relatively high, you must lower the temperature, otherwise the plant growth will slow down and enter semi-dormancy. Generally, cooling is achieved by spraying water, shading, etc. Or you can move it to a room with a fan or air conditioner, but do not keep it near a drafty environment.

3. Watering

Azalea has very high requirements for soil moisture, and it is best to keep it moist but not wet, even in summer. Generally speaking, watering should be done at least once a day in summer, and can also be done in the morning and evening depending on the situation. Do not use too cold water for watering at this time, because it will cause the soil temperature to drop rapidly, thus hindering the breathing of the plant roots.
