Cultivation methods and precautions of golden cypress

Cultivation methods and precautions of golden cypress

1. Maintenance methods

1. Water: In spring and summer, the golden cypress needs to be watered once a week. In autumn and winter, the frequency of watering can be reduced appropriately. When it rains, you should shelter and drain the water as soon as possible to avoid water accumulation and root rot.

2. Soil: It is not very demanding on soil and can grow in ordinary soil. It likes to grow in breathable and loose acidic soil, so alkaline soil cannot be used.

3. Temperature: The temperature suitable for its growth is around 20-30℃, the highest temperature in summer shall not exceed 35℃, and it shall not be lower than 5℃ during the winter. It is best to go indoors in winter.

4. Light: It should be grown in a location with good light, which is conducive to its growth. It cannot be exposed to direct sunlight and needs to be shaded with a sunshade net in summer. It can receive normal sunlight in other seasons.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Repotting: It is necessary to repot the plant after about 2 to 3 years, and the time for repotting can be in March or April every year. Be sure to replace the soil, and add some rice husk ash and some sandy soil to the soil.

2. Pruning: In order to maintain the beautiful shape of the tree, we must remove the young shoots at the top in time to promote the sprouting of side branches and leaves, which will make it more ornamental.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Pests: It will be attacked by caterpillars, so the insects should be removed in time. Some fertilizers should also be applied appropriately, and carbofuran should be used for disinfection.

2. Disease: Golden cypress will be affected by leaf blight. The diseased leaves should be cut off immediately and sprayed with carbendazim for prevention and control.

IV. Other issues

1. Can it be grown indoors? It likes sunlight, and if the indoor light is good, it can be grown indoors. However, it should be ventilated more.

2. Pruning: Golden cypress is very resistant to pruning, so it should be pruned according to actual conditions during maintenance. Branches and leaves that are not growing well should be cut off, such as yellow leaves, dead leaves and diseased leaves.
