Are succulents afraid of the sun? Are they plants that like the sun?

Succulent lighting

Most succulents like light and can accept more than 6 hours of light a day. Only when the plants receive sufficient light can the leaves of succulents become fuller and the colors become brighter, which is also beneficial to the growth of the plants. Otherwise, if there is a lack of light, the plants will easily grow too tall. However, the specific light depends on the variety of the plant.

Succulents basking in the sun

Succulents can be exposed to the sun. Generally speaking, succulents can be exposed to the sun all day in spring, autumn and winter because the light intensity in these three seasons is not high, which is more suitable for the growth of succulents. However, the light in summer is too extreme and hot. If the plants are exposed to the sun at this time, they will easily get sunburned.

Succulent sunburn

1. If succulent plants are sunburned, they need to be moved to a location with relatively weak sunlight, watered every 2-3 days, and a layer of shade net should be pulled over the succulents.

2. Do not break off the burned leaves of succulents just because you think they look ugly, because nutrients are still stored in the leaves, which can be consumed during the plant's recovery period.

3. If the succulent plants are severely sunburned, you need to dig them out, disinfect the wounds, clean and dry the roots, and then replant them in new soil.
