How to grow Lantern

How to grow Lantern

1. Soil:

Lantern Festival has strong adaptability and can grow in most soils, but it is best planted in neutral or slightly acidic or alkaline soil with good drainage and rich in organic matter.

2. Fertilization:

The amount of fertilizer applied in the field of Lantern Festival should be comprehensively considered based on soil, variety habits, planting density, etc. During cultivation, use a mixture of manure, three-element compound fertilizer and chemical fertilizer as base fertilizer, and spray foliar fertilizer appropriately after flowering and fruiting.

3. Watering:

Lantern has a high demand for water and requires a lot of water to grow. It needs to be watered on time after cultivation. If there is not enough water, it will have a great impact on the germination and growth of the Lantern Festival.

4. Temperature:

Lantern Festival is very cold-resistant and can survive the winter even if the temperature is too low. During cultivation, the temperature should be controlled between 12°-30°C, and the most suitable temperature for germination is 16°C.

5. Notes:

1. Diseases:

The main disease of Lantern Festival is leaf spot, which mainly harms the leaves and outer bracts of the fruit and affects the growth of the plant. It can be prevented and controlled by spraying wettable powder of benomyl and wettable powder of carbendazim.

2. Pests:

The main pests are white grubs and cutworms, which feed on the leaves of the Chinese lantern. Chemical agents such as chlorpyrifos emulsifiable concentrate and zinc chlorpyrifos can be sprayed for prevention and control.
