How to cultivate hyacinth in soil

Why soil culture

Different ornamental values: appreciate the flowers in soil, appreciate the flowers in hydroponic culture by looking at the roots.

Different lifespans: Plants grown in soil grow stronger and live longer. The maximum survival period of hydroponics is 2 to 3 years.

Different levels of maintenance difficulty: hydroponics require the addition of nutrient solution, and the water must be changed frequently and the angle must be changed. The maintenance of soil cultivation is relatively simple, just water and fertilize appropriately.

Soil culture method

Soil culture method 1

The method of open field planting is very simple, just 3 steps:

Prepare the bulbs, clean them, and disinfect them with carbendazim.

Place the hyacinth directly on the soil, burying 1/3 of the bulb in the soil. Do not bury it too deep to affect the growth of the root system.

Do not water too much after planting, just keep the soil moist and expose it to more sunlight to help the hyacinth take root faster. Watering once every 4 to 5 days after rooting can promote the growth of flower buds.

Soil culture method 2

Method 2 is suitable for home potted plants.

First, choose soil with good drainage, add a small amount of base fertilizer (rotted animal manure) to mix, and then put it in the pot. The soil should be 2 to 3 cm away from the edge of the pot.

The usual planting time is October . Put the bulbs in pots, 1 bulb in a small pot and 3 to 4 bulbs in a large pot. The planting depth is 5 to 8 cm.

After planting, water appropriately and apply a small amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. It will bloom after 120 days, and fertilizer should be applied once before and after flowering.

The biggest advantage of hyacinth is that after the flowering period, you can cut off all the leaves, take out the bulbs and place them in a ventilated place. You can replant them next year, which saves a lot of costs! Now that you have learned the soil cultivation method, let’s take a look at how to grow the more beautiful hyacinth in hydroponics.
