The reproduction method of Polygonatum multiflorum

Rhizome propagation

This method can be carried out in late March or late autumn. The weather is not that hot during this period, the plants are not easily infected with diseases, and the chances of survival will be greater. Choose rhizomes that are disease-free to avoid passing the pathogens to new plants. Cut the selected rhizomes into several sections, depending on the actual size, and cut each section into about 3 sections. Then place it in a well-ventilated place to dry, and then you can plant it in the prepared substrate.

If you choose to plant multiple trees, be sure not to plant them too close together, and keep them 15-24cm apart. After covering the soil, you can water it, and water it enough at one time. After that, you can water it once every three to five days, but make sure the soil is dry. But one thing to note here is that flower lovers who choose to sow in autumn must cover the plants with grass to keep warm, because the weather will gradually turn cooler, so as to prevent the plants from frostbite.

Seed propagation

Friends who choose to propagate by seeds cannot sow directly after picking, because the seeds will not germinate immediately, and direct sowing will waste seeds. It is best to store the seeds in sand for a period of time first, and then sow them normally in late March next year. After that, the temperature will gradually rise, which is also very beneficial to the development of the seeds. The amount of sand should be three times the amount of seeds. The specific amount of sand to use should be determined based on how many seeds you need to plant.

When sowing, the distance should not be too close. After sowing, wet grass should be put on to keep it moist, which can ensure the speed of seed germination. At the same time, the sunlight will become stronger and stronger, so pay attention to shade work.
