Germination conditions

The suitable temperature for germination is 15-25℃.

Specific methods

Sow the seeds of Jade directly into the potting soil and they will germinate after 7 days. When the seedlings have grown for a period of time, they can be transplanted and planted separately in pots.

Precautions

Water appropriately and do not let the soil become too dry. The temperature for seedlings to overwinter should be above 10℃. When thorns grow on the top of the seedlings, they can be planted in pots, one seedling per pot. It is best to transplant them in spring.

Cutting time

Cuttings can be taken from April to October every year.

Cutting conditions

The medium for cuttings is river sand with a small amount of sawdust. For cuttings, choose plump and protruding balls as cuttings. If the bulbs are too small, they are prone to rot.

Specific methods

Make sure the spherical surface of the cuttings is smooth, then apply wood charcoal powder or sulfur powder on it and place it in a cool place to dry for 2-3 days. Wait until the secreted juice dries up and the cut surface shrinks before cutting. After planting, place it in a semi-shaded place, spray some water and keep the soil moist. It will take about 40 days for it to take root and survive.

Precautions

Cuttings cannot be taken in the hot and rainy summer, but they can be taken in the greenhouse all year round. When planting cuttings, do not insert them too deep; the cut should be slightly below the soil.

Specific methods

Graft the small cactus that has been cultivated for more than 3 months onto the tender mesembrancer to promote its growth. When the scion grows to a certain size and can no longer be supported by the cutting board, it can be cut off, and after the wound is dried, it can be transplanted into a potted plant. In an environment with fertile soil and good air circulation, ungrafted seedlings also grow very fast. After potting, the seedlings or grafted bulbs should be placed in semi-shade, avoiding direct sunlight. If the bulbs do not shrink after 7-10 days, they will survive.

Precautions

Do not water after grafting and place it in a cool place.
