How to Propagate Grape Hyacinth

How to Propagate Grape Hyacinth

Seed propagation

The most common method of propagation for grape hyacinth is sowing;

When sowing, you should first select healthy and full seeds as the materials for sowing. After selecting the seeds, you should soak them for about an hour and then take them out.

Dry the seeds taken out of the water in a cool and ventilated place until they are dry, and then plant them directly into the prepared potting soil. The potting soil should be loose, fertile, and well-drained sandy loam.

After planting, water the seeds until the soil is moist; then cover the seeds with soil. The thickness of the soil should not be too thick. The thickness of the soil covering can be determined according to the size of the plant.

In this way, even if the seeds are sown, they can be placed in a sunny place for maintenance.

Propagation by dividing bulblets

Another common sowing method for grape hyacinths is bulblet propagation;

Grape hyacinth bulbs can be cultivated in autumn and winter. Leaf mold or sandy loam is preferred. After planting, water the soil immediately to keep it moist without stagnant water.

After the planted bulbs have grown leaves, you can apply nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium dilutions, which can promote the growth of the plants and facilitate reproduction;

After the grape hyacinths grow flower buds in the spring, they can be moved to a place with 60%-70% sunlight for care and growth, which will promote rapid growth of the flower stems, so that new grape hyacinths can be reproduced quickly.

Okay, this is the propagation method of grape hyacinth, have you remembered it?
