Methods/Steps

Step 1: Seed Selection

Prepare sunflower seeds. There are different varieties of sunflowers. If you want to plant them in pots, you can use small ornamental sunflower seeds. If you want to plant them in large flower beds or yards, it is recommended to use edible types.

Step 2: Planting

The recommended sowing time is April, when the temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius. Remember to ensure the freshness of the seeds and avoid mold. Bury the seeds in the soil, they will germinate in about 3 days and can be transplanted in about 5 days.

Step 3: Transplant

When the sunflower seeds germinate and emerge from the soil and their cotyledons open, they can be transplanted into a large pot. After transplanting, water the plants thoroughly and allow them to take root. It is recommended to place it in a sunny place indoors. If you want to place it under the sun, you need to water it frequently.

Step 4: Maintenance

When about 3 to 4 pairs of true leaves have grown, spray some potassium dihydrogen phosphate on the leaves every few days to promote plant growth. Sunflowers need to be fertilized during their growth, and make sure it is well-rotted organic fertilizer.
