How to plant eggplant seeds? Simple seedling raising method

Eggplant seed planting time

Eggplant seeds are generally sown in spring or autumn every year. In spring, they are usually sown in January and February, and in autumn, they are sown in July and August. If they are grown in a greenhouse, as long as the temperature is controlled well, they can be sown all year round.

Eggplant seed planting method

1. Germination: In order to increase the germination rate of eggplant, the seeds need to be germinated before sowing. They need to be soaked in warm water, then scalded with hot water to soften the seed coat, and then placed on gauze to dry for a few hours.

2. Soil preparation: Eggplant does not have very high requirements for soil, but if you want it to grow better, it needs to be planted in a place with sufficient fertility, good drainage, and deep soil. In addition, the soil needs to be deeply plowed and exposed to the sun before sowing.

3. Sowing: After processing the seeds, you can mix the eggplant seeds with sand and scatter them on the surface of the soil, then cover them with a layer of fine soil. If the climate is relatively dry, you need to water them 1-2 times in an appropriate amount to keep the soil moist, which can accelerate germination.

Daily management precautions for eggplant

Attention should be paid to eggplant after it has sprouted. Thinning should be carried out after all the seedlings have emerged. Some seedlings that are too dense or too weak need to be removed. The distance between the seedlings should be kept at 8-12 cm, which is more conducive to growth. In addition, inter-row cultivation and weeding should be carried out to avoid excessive consumption of nutrients.
