Tips for making violets bloom all year round

How to make violets bloom in all seasons

Choose different types

You can choose different types of violets such as spring, summer and autumn, and adopt the method of stage sowing. In this way, you can enjoy the beautiful violet flowers in spring, summer and autumn in warm places.

Sowing at different times and their techniques

Only by choosing different sowing periods can you appreciate the beauty of violets at different times. If sown in the greenhouse in early February, it will bloom in May; if sown in late February to March, it will bloom in June; if sown in April, it will bloom in July; if sown in May, it will bloom in August; similarly, if sown in late July of the previous year, it will bloom indoors in February to March of the following year. The temperature should be around 17 degrees Celsius during sowing, and the seeds should not be spaced too closely. In addition, after the flowers fade, you can cut off the dead branches and apply fertilizer in time, so that the plant can bloom again when side branches grow.

External conditions for violets to bloom

Extended light exposure

Electric lighting can be used here. Since violets are long-day plants, greenhouse cultivation in winter and extended light hours can promote their flowering. The method is to use electric lights to extend the light by 4 to 5 hours after sunset every day to promote early flowering. The electric light should also be installed about one meter above the plants.

Gibberellic acid spray

Around the time when flower buds appear, which is around mid-to-early November, spraying 50mL/L of gibberellin on the flower buds can also promote the flowering of violets.

Through the introduction of the above methods, I believe we can retain the eternal beauty of violets!
