Don't throw away dying flowers. Do this and they will come back to life in a matter of minutes.

Don't throw away dying flowers. Do this and they will come back to life in a matter of minutes.

1 Death from drought

1. Huahua went out to play during the Dragon Boat Festival, and when she came back she found that the stems of the pennywort were all drooping, and the whole pot of pennywort was about to die.

save:

1. Cleaning: If the pennywort has completely wilted, simply cut off all the wilted branches and leaves, leaving only the healthy roots.

2. Regrowth: After watering the pennywort, place it on the south balcony or south windowsill to receive strong light. After a period of time, the pennywort will be able to sprout again.

2. If the soil in the pot is too hard due to drought and it is no longer possible to water it, then you can only use the immersion method to water the wilted flowers.

1. Soak the pot: Place the flower pot in a larger pot or bucket and add water to the large pot or bucket.

2. Take out: After soaking the pot, water will gradually seep into the soil from the water holes at the bottom of the pot.

After the soil on the surface of the pot has been soaked with water, you can take out the pot.

2 Deaths from flooding

The flowers and plants in the home will be waterlogged and die because there is too much water in the soil, which makes the soil sticky and the roots cannot breathe, which easily leads to root rot.

Rescue 1: Loosening and ventilation

Dig up the soil in the pot and observe the root system. If there is no root rot, or the root rot is not serious, loosen the soil of the flowers and plants in time, and then place them in a bright and ventilated place to allow the moisture in the pot to dissipate as soon as possible. Be sure to avoid strong light exposure.

Rescue 2: Root Rot

If the root rot is serious, you can only clean the root system. Here we take succulents as an example.

1. Cleaning: Clean the roots of the succulents and cut off all rotten parts with a sterilized knife.

2. Disinfection: Apply carbendazim on the cut wound, and then place it in a cool and ventilated place to dry for 1-2 days.

3. Rooting: Plant the processed succulents in perlite or Akadama soil and wait for them to take root.

4. Placement: Place the succulents in a cool and ventilated place where they can receive scattered light, avoiding direct sunlight. They will generally take about 3 weeks to re-root.

4. Pests

Summer is also the peak season for various insect pests. If you are not careful, the flowers and plants in your home may die due to insect pests.

Rescue 1: General treatment

If you find that the pests and diseases are not very serious, you can choose to use pesticides for spraying. Here we take scale insects as an example.

1. Medication: dilute the Aphidicide with water at a ratio of 1:2000.

2. Spraying: Spray the medicine on the leaves with insect pests.

Rescue 2: Complete treatment

If the infestation is already very serious when it is discovered, you should cut off the branches that have been infested, and then select healthy branches from them and re-graft them, taking Kalanchoe as an example.

1. Branch selection: Select healthy Kalanchoe branches with a length of about 4-6cm, and then place them in a cool and ventilated place to dry.

2. Processing: Cut the dried Kalanchoe branches into small sections, and then remove the leaves at the bottom of the branches.

3. Soil preparation: The soil must be loose and breathable. You can choose to mix leaf mold and river sand in a ratio of 4:1, then water it thoroughly and insert the treated branches into the soil.

4. Rooting: Place the cut Kalanchoe branches in a cool and ventilated place, keep the soil moist, and wait for the Kalanchoe to take root.

If you see that a flower is about to die, don't rush to throw it away.

Let’s try and see if we can save it first!
