What to do if the roots of Phoenix Bamboo are rotten

What to do if the roots of Phoenix Bamboo are rotten

How to determine root rot

First, you need to look at the color of the cultivation soil. If it is summer or autumn, when the weather is relatively good, you only need to water it once a day. On the second day, you can look at the color of the soil. If the soil is dry and somewhat white, it is normal. If it is still moist, then the roots may have rotted. If this continues after three days, it means that most of the roots are rotten.

Secondly, you can look at the color of the leaves. If the leaves become dull and wilted compared to other bamboos, it is possible that the roots are rotten. If the lower leaves fall off and turn yellow in large numbers during the season when they should not be replaced, it may be caused by root rot.

Solutions for root rot

If it is determined that root rot has occurred, you can pay attention to watering. The first time you water, you can water it thoroughly. After that, when you water, just make sure the soil is not dry but moist. It can also be treated with medication, and 40% 1000 times dimethoate solution can be used to relieve the symptoms.

Or you can cut out the rotten roots, and make sure to cut them cleanly. After disinfecting the wound, place it in a cool place to dry, and then plant normally. Remember to remove dead and rotten leaves as well.
