How to Plant Vanda

How to Plant Vanda

Planting environment

Soil: Vanda orchids have thicker and longer roots and are most exposed to the air, so if planted in a flowerpot, be sure to choose soil that is water-permeable and breathable, but leaf mold and culture soil are not recommended.

Temperature: When planting, it is best to choose a temperature above 20 degrees, and the most suitable planting temperature is between 20 and 30 degrees.

Humidity: Humidity is very important to it, because its roots like to be exposed to the air, it needs a higher humidity. When planting, the humidity can be maintained between 70% and 80%, so it is necessary to sprinkle water around it from time to time, especially in winter. It is best to have a humidifier. After all, manual watering cannot be done all the time.

Water: Although the soil must be kept moist during planting, this does not mean that water can accumulate, otherwise it will affect its survival.

Planting method

Collect fresh seeds, rinse them with water and sprinkle them on the culture soil. Control the temperature at 25 degrees. It is best to have 12 hours of sunlight a day. On cloudy days, you can use fluorescent lamps temporarily instead. It will take about 2 to 3 months for bulbs to grow. Then cut the bulbs into pieces and put them in water to wait for rooting. After rooting, they can be transplanted.

In fact, Vanda orchid has very strong vitality, and its flowers are large and bright, so it is very worth planting.
