How to fertilize Hoya

How to fertilize Hoya

Fertilization during the growing season

Its growing season is from May to August. At this time, you can apply fertilizer once or twice a month, or once every 15 to 20 days. However, the concentration of the fertilizer should not be too high. It is better to have a light fertilizer than a high one. You can choose fertilizers containing nitrogen and phosphorus.

Fertilization in summer

In summer, you can use fertilizers containing phosphorus and potassium for fertilization, once every 15 to 20 days.

Fertilization in autumn and winter

Starting from autumn, the growth rate of Hoya will slow down, and the demand for water and fertilizer will naturally decrease, so it is only necessary to apply fertilizer every 40 to 45 days. Do not apply too much fertilizer at this time. Too much fertilizer will cause fertilizer damage. In the spring of the following year, you can slowly resume normal fertilization.

Fertilize before blooming

When the flowers bloom, you can apply more phosphorus-containing fertilizers, which is very beneficial for flowering.

Precautions

The temperature is high in summer, so you must control the amount of fertilizer you apply each time. Too much fertilizer will make the branches and stems become thin and long, and the leaves will lose their luster and fullness.

Do not allow water to accumulate when applying fertilizer at any time, especially in winter, as this will cause great damage to the roots of the plants.

When fertilizing, do not allow the fertilizer to get on the plants, especially the flowers.

In order to make its flowers bloom more beautifully, in addition to reasonable fertilization, it also needs plenty of sunlight.
