How to grow azalea in summer

How to grow azalea in summer

1. Cooling

Because summer is often the hottest time of the year, there is no doubt that this time does not have the environment required by this plant, so it is very important to cool it down. To achieve this goal, we need to sprinkle water around it, because the evaporation of water is particularly large at this time, and the evaporation of water needs to absorb heat, so it can still bring a certain coolness to the surrounding area.

In addition, shading is also something that must be done, because exposure to the sun will affect its normal growth, so we can build a greenhouse for it. Generally, we need to cover it with two layers of shade nets, or directly move it from outside to a cooler place. If a greenhouse is used, what we need to do is spray it with water, usually once at eight in the morning and again at three in the afternoon. In addition, we must also do a good job of ventilation.

2. June and July

The shaping and pruning of this flower is from the beginning of June to the middle of July. After pruning, the leaves of this flower will be greatly damaged, so we must take good care of the roots so that it can grow healthily. Of course, the fertilization should be reduced at this time, both the frequency and the concentration should be slightly reduced, because generally no fertilizer should be applied for more than half a month after pruning.

3. August

In August, new shoots will emerge and this is when we need to adopt more stringent management methods. First of all, we have to keep the temperature below 30 degrees, so that its leaves and buds can grow normally. Then we have to know that the tender green leaves are easily attacked by insects, so we must sterilize and kill insects to avoid bacterial infection and insect invasion. Of course, we still need to provide it with water and fertilizer resources normally. As long as it can survive the summer, it will bloom well in the spring.
